Looking for a dip that’s both effortless and impressive? This creamy whipped goat cheese with roasted olives blends tangy and smooth goat cheese, with bold and briny olives for a match made in appetizer heaven. It’s easy to prepare, visually stunning, and guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser!
Whenever I plan a get-together, I always make sure to include one or two dips on the menu. They’re reliable crowd-pleasers and among the easiest dishes to prepare! Over the years, I’ve made countless cheese dips because, let’s face it, I simply adore them. One of my favorite ways to elevate a dip is by pairing a creamy cheese base with a standout ingredient, like the seasonal favorite Pumpkin Feta Dip, or this vibrant Whipped Feta Dip with Roasted Red Peppers Salsa. This creamy whipped goat cheese with roasted olives combines two of my all-time favourites: the tangy richness of goat cheese and the bold, briny flavor of olives. While feta is a popular choice for dips, as you can see from many of my recipes, goat cheese offers a wonderfully balanced flavour that’s perfect for this dish. Topping it with rich, roasted olives creates a combination that’s nothing short of heavenly.
Ingredients for this Creamy Whipped Goat Cheese with Roasted Olives
All the ingredients listed below are simple pantry staples or easily accessible items, nothing too fancy! Yet, with just a few basics, you can create one of my favorite easy-to-make appetizers. Not only does it look stunning, but it tastes even better!
For the Roasted Olives
- Olives – Use any type of olives you like, I prefer a mix of green and kalamata olives. Pitted olives might work best here as it will be easier to eat with the dip, however, you can use stoned ones as well.
- Olive oil – use a good quality one to enhance the olive flavour.
- Herbs – a mix of dried herbs, my favourite combination is that of oregano, thyme and mint.
For the Whipped Goat Cheese
- Goat Cheese – any full-fat goat cheese will work. You can also use Feta cheese instead.
- Cream Cheese – it will help to get a smooth creamy texture.
- Greek Yogurt – apart from helping the texture, the yogurt adds a slight tang to the dip.
- Olive oil – any good tasting olive oil will give an added richness to this dip.
- Honey – to balance out all the saltiness.
- Lemon – a squeeze of fresh lemon for that acidic hit which boosts the flavour of the dip.
- Salt and Pepper – taste well before adding any salt and add it gently, according to your liking!

FAQs
Can I use another type of cheese for this dip?
Yes, although in my opinion goat cheese works best with the roasted olives. Othere cheese you can use are the Maltese ġbejna, feta cheese, or any other crumbly soft cheese. The only thing is that you need to be careful with the seasonings, as each cheese requires a different amount to create a luscious cheese spread.
Can I serve the roasted olives on their own?
Yes! The roasted olives can be served on their own as a great addition to your appetizers. You can also serve them with a side of bread! Ideally, they are to be served warm but can also be enjoyed cold.
How to store?
Store in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. You can either store the dip and roasted olives seperately, or else together.
