These Chili Mango Olives are the perfect mix of sweet yet salty olives with a touch of spice. Serve them as an appetizer for a wow effect!

Whenever I go grocery shopping one of my favorite things to do I is roam around the deli section to see what new flavour combinations or products are being launched. Recently, a box of mango marinated olives caught my eyes! At first, I have to be sure I wasn’t that keen on trying this combination, however I still got some. As soon as I got home, I tried an olive and I was obsessed! I adore the sweet and savory balance and how neither fruit was fighting against the other. It worked so well!
it actually reminded me of a recipe I had developed last year. Herbed Marinated Olives with Honey and Garlic! I knew I had to recreate it at home, so I started tearing and jotting down a recipe on my notebook. In this recipe apart the sweetness from the mango you will taste some honey to help the mango, while I have also added a touch of heat with a few chopped pieces of red chili pepper.

How to store?
Store in the fridge for up to 7 days in an airtight container with the marinade. Before serving take out 5 minutes before so that any solidified oil will melt. Add a drizzle of olive before serving.
How to serve these olives?
These marinated olives are perfect to be served as an appetizer during the festive season. Add them to a platter or a board with other nibbles, serve them as a party food, or even include them in your favourite salad or sandwich. You can also just serve them with crusty bread so that you can scoop up the delicious marinade as a dipping oil. Or else you can simple nibble on them whenever you are craving something savoury.
This recipe might have a good amount of mango marinade, which I suggest to not throw it away! I recommend to use this marinade as a salad dressing or else to use it to marinade shrimps or even chicken!

Chili Mango Olives
Ingredients
- 160 g olives
- 100 g mango
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tbsp parsley
- 1 medium chili pepper
- 30 ml olive oil
- 20 ml water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Chop the mango add to a blender together with the water, olive oil, honey, lemon, garlic, salt and pepper. Blend until smooth.
- Add the mixture to the olives and add the chopped red chili peppers and parsley. Give everything a good stir. Store in the fridge for at least 4 hours. When ready to serve, shake the container. Use any leftover marinade as a salad dressing!
